{10 -16 november 2013 | week 46 }

6 December 2013

It's week 46 and Winter is fast approaching !

What happened this week ?

The temperature dropped noticeably this week. We had the Armistice 1918 memorial on the Monday and it was very cold and windy, we warmed up after wards at the Mairie with a glass of wine.  I ordered a camera grip for my iPhone and a dinosaur hopped across the Atlantic in the parcel, much to the children's amusement. I made a mini tag album inspired by Marcy Penner for December. If you click the button to the right on {life.paper.scrapbook} you can see my mini album featured in the latest issue :) Nat and the boys cleaned the wood burner and the bottom of the chimney (and didn't get too dirty!)

Nothing out of the ordinary, getting back into the routine of school, football practise and extra lessons. I was thrilled to use the kit from Studio Calico that came with my Process class to construct this week's layout.

{27 october - 2 november 2013 | week 44 }

25 November 2013

It's week 44 and it's Halloween fun time :)

What happened this week ?

It was the second week of the term break and my husband was on holiday from work too. We had a Halloween party on the Thursday for the childrens' friends. They had lots of fun colouring a giant spooky house and we stamped up some of the Studio Calico bags as little present sacks. Zachary had his first football practise of the year under floodlights after the clocks went back. Molly had her hair cut for the first time in the salon and really enjoyed the pampering!  I finished my {zombie} socks in time for Halloween and started my {December Daily} album.

{20 - 26 october 2013 | week 43 }

10 November 2013

It's week 43 and there is lots of lovely pink from my CitrusTwist pocket life kit !

What happened this week ?

I recently discovered *CitrusTwist* and ordered one of their monthly scrapbook kit sets. I was so impressed when I received it that I immediately signed up for their 3 month pocket life kit too ! My first one arrived during the week documented and I immediately put nearly every single item to good use - really good value for money.

Autumn is finally here in all its glorious colours. We had a couple of days of really warm weather and then mists and once the mist lifted you could really see the change in the leaves.  I captured some amazing spiderwebs covered in dew photographs on my morning run.  This was the first week of the school holiday, but I still managed to continue my running programme and find activities for the kids as well.  Friday saw us all head to Lyon for Zachary's 3 monthly check up for his diabetes. He was very pleased to have grown 3cms and not put on any weight, so his exercises are paying off - bravo! We tied in a trip to Ikea to get a another cart for my scrap bits with lunch and the children loved the meatballs.

Techniques used ~

I used my Cameo to cut the Week number on double sided adhesive with a transparency and then added glitter as taught in the "Cutting Edge" class by Studio Calico.  I used the same technique for the Shanna Noel "gratitude documented" free file.  The vellum pocket shows from last week, so I added some pink sequins. I cut up some of the CitrusTwist cards to add the word/sayings as embellishments to my photos.

{13 - 19 october 2013 | week 42 }

3 November 2013

It's week 42 !

What happened this week ?

I had noticed that my photo were becoming few and far between due to a busy schedule, and promised to make amends. Well here goes !

There was an agricultural fair on Saturday at a local village that we like to attend due to the lovely handmade/hand grown produce and products on sale. The children enjoyed looking at the livestock show and Zachary got to sit in a big tractor! Zachary is busy practising his football skills at every opportunity.

The leaves are changing colour, we had a cold snap last week and this week I can see the trees on the mountain behind our house changing colour daily.

I did some letterpress crafting and silhouette cutting - a brilliant file by Shanna Noel for Studio Calico. I cut it in gold glitter card stock and included it in my spread - love it!

{6 - 12 october 2013 | week 41 }

27 October 2013

It's week 41 and winter is coming !

What happened this week ?

We saw the first snow on the mountain above us. Zachary had an unfortunate incident involving our spare television that the children use in their rooms to play xbox. He pulled it on the trolley across a rug (that he had been told not to), it fell to the floor and broke. So no xbox until we source an old, cheap television ! I am loving my pink rain boots ! The final season of Dexter is now airing in France (we are so behind !)

{29 september - 5 october 2013 | week 40 }

14 October 2013

It's week 40 and it's my birthday week !

What happened this week ?

I finished knitting a pair of socks for my Mum's birthday later this month and used my Silhouette Cameo to make her a card too. I also made a filler card for this week using the same principle. I celebrated my birthday, the children made me some interesting wooden items that are now proudly on display in the kitchen. I had some chocolates, which we all enjoyed eating but my main presents I'd already had from my generous husband, my MacBook Air and my Cameo :)

Not many photos being taken at the moment as the children are now back at school. This is something that I must be more aware of, but at the same time not worry too much as I have lots of pretty filler cards !

I used a wood veneer from Studio Calico to make an insert card that used embossing powders. I also did some stitching on a tag from Amy Tangerine that was part of my Studio Calico project life kit. I used my Cameo to make a filler card. I included the *sprinkles* that my sister included in my birthday card, using a pocket that contained other sequins from Studio Calico and I created a little banner using wood veneers from Dear Lizzy and jewels from my OhDeerMe kit. There is some journaling down the side of my birthday photo, I have just removed it for privacy purposes (I should say that I am not 3, that is the date of my birthday !)

{22 - 28 september 2013 | week 39}

7 October 2013

It's week 39 and it's the first week of Autumn, my favourite season.

What happened this week ?

Not a lot out of the ordinary, my husband bought a new car for Winter so we had a trip on Friday to pick it up and tea out together as a family. More running for me, more home-school in English.  The shutters have been painted ready for Winter.  The leaves are starting to turn here, but it is still quite mild.

{15 - 21 september 2013 | week 38}

30 September 2013

It's week 38 and it's the last week of Summer.

What happened this week ?

We started our home schooling on Wednesday for English. At present there is no school on a Wednesday in our commune in France. This will change for the next school year.  I have introduced a *fun* hour of English for the children.  There was a sporting outing on Thursday afternoon. On Friday I had my hair cut - about 10 cms off ! Saturday was Zachary's first football tournament of the season. I started my running programme this week too. Having lost some weight over the summer by being more active and watching what I have been eating, I am keen to lose some more and get back into my running. I really enjoyed Cross Country as a child, representing my County at school level, so I am using this as a positive path to fitness.

{8 - 14 September 2013 | week 37 | inc Week in the Life}

17 September 2013

It's week 37 and it's Week in the Life !

What happened this week ?

We joined in with Ali Edward's Week in the Life from Monday through to Sunday so other than a journal card about this, the rest of my Project Life spread is filler cards and embellishments.  I designed the weekly title card using Chalk fonts and my spread moves from the black chalk effect through to muted grey  and gold tones.
